WHy do you need a new modern gun. I use the Thompson and it is great. I love it.
It will do very well on the field. Hanks uses an M1A1 also. If I had a rifle to trade I would.

Is yours the Cybergun version or the Tokyo Marui version? Either way, stick a 9.6V in it and you have a sweet gun! I wouldn't trade mine for the world.

Thompsons are great, but there's nothing wrong with wanting a modern gun. I have a CYMA MP5 but its a piece of junk, you don't want it for anything except backyard battles.

Any airsoft store/site. And as I remember a 9.6 doesn't fit in a Thompson. Not any of the two I have. My oldest Thompson is about 7 yrs old. It's a TM. I don't know much about the Cybergun Thompson, but what's there to know. The two types of Thompson's are the same. I didn't have any problems until like the 3 or 4 yr I had my. And it was only the piston at that time. Last season my gears finally went out. But I'm not sure. I haven't gotten back a PM from Big Daddy. So until last season I still had my stock gears, stock motor. and stock hop-up. The only upgrades I did was a bigger spring, metal bushings, and I went from the stock battery (8.4 something) is a 8.4, 4500 blah, blah. I don't know, it's the same battery from way from the start. I wouldn't trade my Thompson's for nothing. Plus I think the look of a M-4 is ugly. Besides, I would go for the WWII guns. Like the BAR, M1 Garand, MP40, STG44, MG42. The cool guns. The only gun I'd go with other than WWII guns is the EBR or the M14.

A 9.6 will fit in the cyber gun. In the upped section of the butt there is a foam filler.
You pull that out andf you have plenty of room. You can almost fit a large type battery in there.
I have run a 9.6 in my Cybergun M1A1. Buy a charger and you will have a gun that will not fail you for a long time.

Like what I said, I don't know much about the cyber gun. I know a TM won't take a 9.6.

Young's allegedly goes up the street tot he hobby store and buys their 30 dollar smart charger and resells them for 40 in his store. Evike has smart chargers for around 30 plus shipping making it cheaper than running all the way over to GR. Look at a local place by the mall called Batteries plus. Give them a ring and tell them what you're wanting and if they can get it for you. My recommendation though is for you to understand what it is that you need and can explain what that is before you dial that phone.

Here's the one I got from EVIKE:
